Research Scientist
RXi Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: RXII) is looking for a talented Research Scientist to join our interdisciplinary team working on the development and evaluation of novel chemistry and delivery platforms for RNAi therapeutics.
The successful candidate will be a principal contributor to early stage RNAi therapeutic development projects. Working in collaboration with the chemistry and pharmacology groups as well as external collaborators, the Research Scientist will design and screen a wide range of formulations and chemistries, facilitating the advancement of RNAi compounds into development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and run in vitro and in vivo assays to evaluate the efficiency and mechanism of RNAi compounds
- Design and screen a variety of compounds to optimize RNAi delivery in vitro and in vivo
- Establish and manage collaborations with both academic and industry partners
- Manage an interdisciplinary project team
- Assemble formal and semi-formal documentation to transfer lead compounds into development
Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry with 1-5+ years of postdoctoral or industry experience

Research Associate
RXi Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: RXII) is looking for a Research Associate to be an integral part of an interdisciplinary project team working to screen and optimize RNAi compounds in vitro and in vivo with the common goal of developing therapeutics based on RNA interference (RNAi).
Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be involved in the evaluation and optimization of RNAi compounds for various disease related genes. Responsibilities include running assays for RNA and protein quantitation as well as other biological endpoints.
Candidates for the position should have experience in one or more of the following areas: RNA preparation from cells and/or tissues, quantitation of RNA (e.g. RT-PCR, B-DNA) and/or protein (e.g. Western blot, ELISA), assay development, cell culture techniques, and running various biochemical and cell-based assays.
Job requirements: Ideal candidate must have a B.S. or M.S. degree in Cell/Molecular Biology or Biochemistry. Two to four years of post-degree research experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical laboratory setting and/or previous experience working with RNAi or oligonucleotides is desired. RXi Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: RXII) is seeking a talented Scientist in the Pharmacology department to join our energetic interdisciplinary team pursuing the development and commercialization of novel therapeutics based on RNA interference (RNAi).
The successful candidate will play a major role in the evaluation and optimization of RNAi compounds and delivery technologies. This hands-on position requires an exceptional and extensive in vivo skill set including animal model development and validation, varied dosing techniques, and small animal surgical procedures. The Scientist will design and implement a program of in vivo disease and screening models to facilitate the advancement of RNAi compounds into therapeutic development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hands-on development and implementation of in vivo models to support the evaluation and optimization of RNAi compounds and lead candidate identification.
- Hands-on development and implementation of animal models of disease and the evaluation of lead candidates in these models.
- Management of an interdisciplinary project team
- Establish and manage collaborations with both academic and industry partners.
Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Pharmacology or a related field with 2-5+ years of postdoctoral or industry experience. Exceptional MS/BS candidates may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities The successful candidate for the Pharmacology Research Associate position will be involved in the evaluation of RNAi compounds and delivery modalities in animal models of disease. Responsibilities will include small animal handling, dosing of test compounds using a variety of administration routes, minor surgical techniques, tissue harvesting, and preparation. Previous experience in the fields of inflammation, immunology, and metabolic disease is preferred.
Job requirements: Ideal candidate must have a B.S. or M.S. degree in Pharmacology or a related field. Post-degree research experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical laboratory setting is desired.
